If you’ve read my blog before, you know I love sharing small businesses, as well as local boutiques/businesses. I’ve always tried to support clothing businesses, but for some reason it never occurred to me until recently to also support small jewelry businesses. So today, I’m sharing some of my favorite places to buy handmade, great quality, unique, and beautiful pieces to add to your jewelry collection!
Note–none of this is sponsored, affiliate, or gifted. These are just jewelry shops I really love!
Chelsea Leigh Jewelry
I discovered Chelsea Leigh this spring and very quickly became a repeat customer. Not only are her pieces gorgeous and unique, but Chelsea Leigh is genuinely so sweet and appreciative of all her customers. She engages with us and shows her appreciation–she doesn’t just see numbers, she sees people.
Another terrific quality about Chelsea Leigh Jewelry is that any of the gold pieces are gold filled, not gold plated. This means that they last longer, are great for sensitive skin, and are virtually tarnish proof. No ones want to turn green around their finger from cheap jewelry, and I can assure you that Chelsea Leigh’s jewelry has never, ever turned my skin colors. I also have very sensitive ears and can’t wear a lot of different metals. But because she uses gold filled jewelry, I can keep her earrings in with no problems!
There are currently 7 collections at Chelsea Leigh Jewelry with more coming because I’m telling y’all, this girl is an artistic and creative genius! She’s one of the reasons I really began to love handmade jewelry.
Remnant Jewelry
Remnant Jewelry is another small jewelry business I came across this spring. So far I’ve purchased several pair of earrings and I have loved all of them. In the next couple of months, I’ll also be purchasing a custom bracelet set for my mom for Christmas that represents each of our 3 dogs. Everything is very affordable, with incredibly fast shipping, and unlike other shops I’ve seen before.
One of the best parts about Remnant Jewelry a portion each month is given back to the recovery community to help fund services for those struggling with substance misuse and addiction. I love knowing that my business isn’t only helping an individual family, but is also helping those recovering from addiction.
Nautical Notions
I have shared Nautical Notions before on my blog, but wanted to highlight them again. You can find everything from earrings to bracelets to sunglass straps at this shop. They are definitely a preppier brand and I love pairing their pieces with my Vineyard Vines or Lilly Pulitzer outfits. The interchangeable bow on the Bow Pearl Bracelet makes for a very versatile piece to add to your collection.
Magic By Foster
I’ve had pieces from Magic by Foster before it was even named that (it used to be D. Crew Design)! Primarily a jewelry company based around magical Disney designs, the pieces are elegant and simplistic while still incorporating a little bit of magic into your outfit. My Magic by Foster pieces are some of my favorite ways to include Disney into my outfits without it being in your face or super obvious. In fact, I wanted a pair of the earrings so badly, it actually was one of the last things to push me to pierce my ears last fall! Make sure to check out their Instagram to find out the next time their shop opens so you can snag one of these beautiful pieces for yourself!
Femme De Bloom
Dr. Melanie at Femme De Bloom makes the most fun and bright Disney earrings ever. And the best part? They are unbelievably light weight! When I ordered my first pair, I was nervous about if they’d be too heavy or not, but her earrings are absolutely perfect and don’t bother my ears at all. Her Instagram feed is so bright and cheery, too, I always love seeing her posts. Make sure to subscribe to her email list so that way you stay up to date on new collections and sales! Who doesn’t want handmade Disney jewelry?!
Mell’s Trinkets
Mells Trinkets is home of the original Lilly Pulitzer oyster earrings. I swear, to be a true Lilly Pulitzer instagrammer, you have to have a pair of Mells earrings! I have two pairs of minis–one in Reel Nauti and one in Sink or Swim. Again, I was worried these would be too heavy for me but the minis are a good weight! They aren’t earrings I would leave in for multiple days at a time, but I can easily wear them for a day and be fine! Even more exciting? In her September launch, she’s going to have studs and some glitter earrings! Truly, these earrings are gorgeous and perfect for any Lilly lover.
There you have it–the top 6 handmade jewelry shops you should support! Don’t forget that when you shop from a small business, you are directly supporting an individual and their family and dreams, not a big corporation. Every share, comment, like, and product review helps them succeed and make even more beautiful pieces. Jewelry is a form of art and you deserve to have the most beautiful works of art on you!
