Hi friends! Today I’m continuing my series of posts about my spring break trip and will be covering the best places to eat and drink in Savannah, Georgia. As mentioned in my previous article about Savannah, my friends and I stayed at an Airbnb in Hilton Head Island and drove to Savannah on two separate days. It was only about a 45 minute drive and was not bad at all!

Leopold’s Ice Cream
First up is Leopold’s Ice Cream, where the flavor Tutti Frutti was invented! I am a big ice cream fan and opted to try out Leopold’s rather than have lunch! Located on E Broughton Street, Leopold’s Ice Cream was founded in 1919 by three brothers who came from Greece. The son of one of the three brothers eventually left Savannah to pursue a career in Hollywood, although he still comes back to work in the shop occasionally!
I arrived to Leopold’s around 1:30 or 2 pm and waited in line about 55 minutes–it’s a popular place, that’s for sure. The line was outside and it was nice to be able to people watch, but it was rather warm standing in the sun for almost an hour. They did have a server handing out water cups, but for some reason she stopped with the group before us and never came back for me or everyone behind me.
Other than that, I had a great experience at Leopold’s! I had a scoop of Peanut Butter Chippy and Thin Mints & Cream (Savannah is home to the Girl Scouts, if you didn’t know). The ice cream was very yummy, but I don’t think the ice cream itself was worth an hour long wait. The experience of trying Leopold’s was what made it worth it! It was neat to see all of the movie posters that Stratton Leopold has been involved in, too.

Treylor Park
I basically begged my friends to go here for dinner with me and I’m happy to report that it received positive reviews all around! Located on East Bay Street, Treylor Park is an upscale cocktail bar and restaurant. It’s not the biggest place, but it has a fantastic menu with items like PB&J Wings; Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Flatbread; Shrimp & Grits Tacos; and Banana Pudding Creme Brulee! I had the Grilled Apple Pie Sandwich ($10) with Chicken ($15), which I thought was a strange combination until I tried it. The flavors paired together perfectly. The chicken was perfectly crisped which worked well against the softer texture of the apple and pie filling, while the cheddar made it feel more like a sandwich than a dessert.
My friends had the Grilled Cheddar Cheese with Chicken, the Shrimp Tacos, and the Chupacabra and all gave great reviews of their dishes, too. As far as drinks go, I had the Pina Coolatta ($10) which is rum, banana liquor, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. I’m a big Pina Colada fan and this was a yummy take on the classic drink! My friends had the Georgia Mule which they didn’t personally like but I thought was pretty good, as well as the Hang Tang Mojito.
The Grey Market
One afternoon a couple of my friends told me to find somewhere to eat. I basically just picked what was closest to at the time, which was The Grey Market. Boy, am I glad this was what I picked. Inside is an interesting mix between a deli, cafe, and diner. It also has refrigerated goods, pastries, and a menu to order meals to sit in. I had the Turkey Club, I’m not exaggerating when I say it is the best sandwich I have ever had. Hands down! It was phenomenal; the bread had the best texture, the bacon was perfectly cripsy but tender, ah I wish I could have another one. The rest of our friends ended up joining us and everyone gave it raving reviews! I HIGHLY suggest checking it out.
Wet Willies
After leaving The Grey Market, one of my friends started to cross the street and noticed a car waiting for her to cross. After making an apologetic gesture, the woman in the car yelled out her woman “Oh honey, I’m not going to hit you it’s okay.” We laughed, waved, and kept walking. We met again at the next stop light and as the woman drove away, she yelled out her window that we needed to go to Wet Willies.
So what did we do? We went to Wet Willies! Wet Willies is a restaurant/bar that has a wide array of frozen alcoholic drinks. The choices are endless, it was overwhelming. Our waitress was very sweet and brought us samples to try of her recommendations! Two of my friends got the Wonder Woman which is the strongest drink they have and is a combo of several flavors. When they say it’s their strongest drink, they weren’t kidding! I got the Purple Haze (pictured below) which is a house mix of Sex on the Beach (raspberry, peach, cranberry and “plenty of vodka”) & Shock Treatment (lemonade, Blue Curacao, and 190 grain alcohol to “shock your senses”). It wasn’t what I had planned on getting but it was one of the samples I had and it was really tasty and fruity!
This isn’t a fancy place or somewhere to go if you’re a foodie by any means, but it was a fun experience! The food was good, too, but nothing particularly special. We were glad we took the advice of a random lady driving her car, though! Maybe it is not the best place to drink in Savannah, but it’s definitely one of the most fun!

There ya have it, these are the best places to eat and drink in Savannah! I didn’t have breakfast any of the days I was in Savannah, but Savannah is chock full of amazing food options.
