Ahh, Disney World, home to Mickey Mouse and some pretty amazing food. Turkey legs, popcorn, Mickey waffles, corn dog nuggets, egg rolls, the options are endless and oh-so-yummy. I’ve rounded up the best cold desserts (so, ice cream pretty much) in Walt Disney World. Let’s get started!
Ghiradelli Crissy Field Cookie Bits Sundae
Located in Disney Springs, the Ghiradlli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop is home to some really amazing ice cream sundaes! They have espresso drinks, chocolate treats, shakes & floats like a Sea Salt Caramel Quake Shake, and Intense Dark Sundaes like the Painted Ladies Mint Bliss. I had the Crissy Field Cookie Bits Sundae ($12.45) and oh my gosh, it was huge! I shared it with both of my parents and we really enjoyed it. It was doused in hot fudge and there was no shortage of chocolate chip cookies. The two squares of Ghiradelli chocolate was also a nice touch.
Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies & Treats
Auntie Gravity’s is located in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom, across from the Tomorrowland Speedway toward Stitch’s Great Escape and Buzz Lightyear. It’s also adjacent to the Merchant of Venus which is a merchandise store! Here you can find some treats like a brownie sundae, ice cream soda float, milkshakes, seasonal treats, and my personal favorite–the strawberry smoothie! I’m putting this on my dessert post, but honestly this makes a nice refreshing breakfast smoothie if you don’t mind the sugar content to start your day. It has a nice texture and is one of my favorite drinks. Plus, who can resist a Mickey straw?! At $6.29, it doesn’t break the bank and it’s perfect for a hot and humid Florida day.
Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich
Okay, honestly how could I be a Disney blogger if I didn’t mention one of the classics–the Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich! I think this is an underrated Disney sweet treat overshadowed by the Premium Ice Cream Bar. The bar is great, but I prefer the ice cream sandwich! These can be found in all of the parks and are two chocolate Mickey wafers with cookies ‘n’ creme ice cream in the middle. I’m definitely a sweets person so I don’t think it’s overly sweet, but I’ve heard other people say they prefer to share it. You won’t find me sharing it though 😉 The one pictured below was purchased by the cold cart in the seating area in front of Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain in Frontierland. The sweet Cast Member actually pixie-dusted me and gave it to me free of charge when I mentioned I was from Maryland, too! We love that Disney magic.
Maleficent Ice Cream Cone from Storybook Treats
So, when I was little, around 5 or 6, I was on my second trip to Disney World and was wearing a matching set from Hanna Andersson and dropped a soft-serve ice cream cone down the front of my shirt and sweater from Storybook Treats. My mom wasn’t thrilled with me and ever since, whenever we pass Storybook Treats, I always say “Hey mom, remember when you got mad at me for spilling my ice cream?” It’s all in good fun 🙂 Anyway, the Maleficent Ice Cream Cone was a seasonal treat I got two summers ago but the base ice cream is a key lime flavor that they’ve been incorporating in different sundaes since, like the Peter Pan Float. This treat was in a chocolate cone and had two chocolate Maleficent horns coming out of the ice cream. I’m not a key lime person so I couldn’t finish the cone, but I really liked trying something new and different, plus it was such a cute presentation! If you like more traditional treats, then the standard twist (which is what I spilled on myself) is still pretty yummy!

Kitchen Sink Sundae at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
The Kitchen Sink is an infamous sundae at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club Resort, but this Kitchen Sink Sundae is a much more manageable size! It costs $14.99 which is pricier than many of the other desserts I’m including on this list, but it comes with an adorable souvenir kitchen sink bowl you can take home with you, I still use mine! I got chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream drizzled with Peanut Butter sauce. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is located at the top of Main Street near the Hub Grass.
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop
If you haven’t visited Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at the Beach Club Resort yet, you’re really missing out! I haven’t been since they expanded it, but I’ve heard it’s still just as amazing! Pictured below is the No Way Jose sundae and the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae. The No Way Jose Sundae is $11.00 and definitely shareable. The menu says, “A Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge delight featuring Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry.” I’m a peanut butter fanatic so this was definitely a favorite for me. My dad got the Strawberry Shortcake, which is $8, and on the more single-serving size (although still shareable!) and was delicious. They also have specialty milkshakes (they debuted the day I went, actually!) and you get to take the souvenier milkshake glass home with you.
Malva Cake Sundae from Tamu Tamu Refreshments
Last, but certainly not least, is the Malva Cake Sundae ($5.99) found at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in the Africa section in Animal Kingdom. This might be my all time favorite dessert in Disney World, it’s just so unique! The cake is a perfect mix between spongey and moist. It tastes like a caramel spice cake and has a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top with cinnamon sprinkled over it. For my 21+ friends, they also have an option to get it with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum or Plantation Dark Rum ($8.99) to make it a more adventurous dessert. Tamu Tamu also has Dole Whips and you can add rum to those as well, if you wish. I never go to Animal Kingdom without also getting the Malva Sundae!
There’s definitely no shortage of desserts in Walt Disney World, but these are my favorite cold desserts and sweet treats! Have you tried any of these? Did I miss your favorite? Comment below and let me know! And make sure to pin this to Pinterest to come back to it later!
